CHILDREN

Why are children so obstreperous?

I surmise that it is left to us,

Seized upon by introspection

As adults, in retrospection,

To realize, with all due deference

To authorities in residence,

That children are, by predilection

Compelled to walk in that direction

Which best hides their gift to us.
